Lagniappe

2024: The year begins with a series inspired by package delivery photos, taken by the delivery person, whose presence is often featured as a shadow or reflected figure. Lagniappe: a small gift with purchase, or something given or received for free, as a little something extra. As the year unfolds, so does this theme. The initial paintings are directly lifted from those photographs, in a Northwest Forest palette. The mournful mood in the 2023 series, Consider the Hands, lifts as well.
