Femme Assise, after Picasso, 2023 will be exhibited at Space Untitled Art Gallery in Wilton Manors, Florida, in the first annual “Will you hold this against me | Women in Power” art exhibition.

Picasso’s charcoal drawing Femme Assise (1920) inspired this version of the model, looking back. Less like Lot’s wife become the salt pillar, she looks and looks again: fluid, wise and reflecting her own light.
Soft edged, no edged, transparent and glitchy, floating patches of opaque oil paint describe the fine line between the figure and the circumstances she inhabits. One of thirteen oil paintings in Brandenburg’s Consider the Hands body of work.
